في اللغات الجرمانية، الأفعال الضعيفة هي الآن أكبر مجموعة من الأفعال، والتي بالتالي غالباً ما تعتبر معيار (الأفعال العادية)، على الرغم من أنها تاريخياً ليست الأقدم أو الأكثر أصالة.
