ترك مرار الشرق الأوسط في عام 1975 قبل أن ينتقل إلى لندن.حضر [[جامعة إكستر]] حيث حصل على شهادة البكالوريوس في علم النفس. أنهى درجة الماجستير في الفلسفة وعلم النفس من كلية بيركبيك، [[جامعة لندن]]. انضم مرار إلى ساجا في عام 1989 وعمل في جميع جوانب النشر. وعين مديرا للمديرين في عام 1997، ونائب المدير الإداري في عام 2006، وتول دورا عالميا في عام 2010 كمدير للنشر العالمي. في عام 2016، تمت ترقية مرار إلى رئيس، النشر العالمي حيث يتحمل المسؤولية الكاملة عن إستراتيجية ساجا للنشر. <br />
